o       2nd Generation Computer:

            1960`s Transistor based,

o       3rd Generation Computer:

            1960`s Integrated Circuits,

o       4th Generation Computer:

1970`s LSI enabled thousands of circuits to be incorporated on single silicon

chip e.g microprocessor...

o       5th Generation Computer:

            VLSI with sophisticated approach(). 1980`s onward...

        There are three types of computer,

            ANALOG                    DIGITAL                     HYBRID

            Analog computers operate data by a continuous operation. e.g., speedometer

of car...

Ø      HYBRID:

            Hybrid computers operate data by both continuous and discrete operation...

             e.g. air defense system...

Ø      DIGITAL:

            These computers operate data by a discrete operation...

·        MINI COMPUTERS:

            Always uses Dumb Terminal ... e.g, RISC(Redo Inst Set Comp)...

·        MAIN FRAME COMPUTERS:

A high level, large and expensive computers used to handle intensive
